Ingredients
- butter - 1 tablespoon
- honey - 1/4 cup (do not give honey to children under the age of one)
- vanilla, almond or coconut extract - 1 teaspoon (optional)
- ground cinnamon - 1 teaspoon
- old fashioned oats - 2 cups
- nonstick cooking spray
- almonds - 1/2 cup, sliced
- dried cherries, blueberries or cranberries - 3/4 cup
- banana chips - 1/2 cup
- raisins - 1/4 cup
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F.
- Melt butter in a medium saucepan. Add honey, extract, and cinnamon and mix well. Stir in oats.
- Transfer to a baking sheet coated with nonstick cooking spray. Spread mixture into a 1-inch thick layer.
- Bake for 10 minutes, stirring once. Stir in almonds and bake for 5 to 10 minutes more.
- Remove from oven and add in dried fruit. Let cool completely and serve.
